Chinese Crime Networks Flee KK Park for Kings Romans — NUG Denounces Junta’s “Show Raid,” Explosions Continue on Moei River

On 25 October 2025, Mr. Nay Phone Latt, spokesperson for the National Unity Government of Myanmar (NUG), gave an interview concerning the criminal hub “KK Park” where the Karen Border Guard Force (BGF) — aligned with the Myanmar military — opened the gates in a “clear-out” operation. He stated: “Everyone must look into the source of these scam centres, not just the superficial troop raid on KK Park, which looks like a badly written stage-show. The BGF is subordinate to the military junta, and Myanmar military leaders are deeply involved in these operations. We can only hit this problem by cutting off its deep-rooted causes.”

Meanwhile, on the opposite bank of the Moei River, foreigners continued to cross into Thailand under cover of night. Local residents say Chinese nationals — believed to be senior syndicate figures — crossed the river into Thai-side pickup trucks waiting to ferry them away. Over the past 3-4 nights, hundreds have reportedly crossed.

Some scammers relocated to Shwe Kokko, while others rented vehicles to bypass official Thai-side border crossing at Mae Ramat District due to high Thai official presence in Mae Sot District. On the night of 24 October, Thai authorities in Mae Ramat District found 30 Chinese and 1 Laotian illegally crossing the Moei River at Tha Hin Si (village 7, Khanechue Sub-district) after fleeing KK Park at BGF warning of unsafe conditions. All intended to travel to Kings Romans, another crime hub along the Mekong River in Laos opposite Chiang Saen District, Chiang Rai Province.

Previously, on the same night (24 Oct), the Chiang Rai Tourist Police arrested 19 Chinese nationals travelling from KK Park, Myawaddy to Kings Romans, Laos. At around 18:00, Transborder News reporters at Mae Khu Mai Tha Sung (Mae Sot District) heard explosions at KK Park over the last two nights. Today, expecting another blast, at 18:57 three bombs detonated simultaneously inside KK Park. Observers noted a bronze-gray pickup parked behind the building for ~20 minutes before the explosion; people smelled something burning like firecrackers then heard one loud “boom”, followed by large clouds of smoke and debris falling.

On the same day, Police-General Pol Gen Thatchai Pitaneelaboot, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, visited Mae Sot District, Tak Province to oversee the situation with foreign nationals fleeing KK Park. In a joint meeting with immigration, military and border police at Tak Immigration Office, he said screening and interrogation for 100 persons per day takes about 4 days. The legal unit from central authorities is being deployed to handle the cases. Regarding deportation, China has already been contacted via its embassy; other countries will be processed via the Thai Foreign Ministry. “A total of 28 nationalities, the most from India followed by China and Vietnam. Ethiopia is exceptional because it has no embassy in Thailand or Myanmar, requiring further work,” the deputy-commissioner said.
